String arranger for Holy Holy’s Hello My Beautiful World, nominated for Best Rock Album at the ARIA Awards and Australian Album of the Year at the J Awards. The album debuted at #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and #1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, with two tracks placing in the 2021 Triple J Hottest 100. The title track, “Hello My Beautiful World”, was also recognised by the Environmental Music Prize. Toby created and produced the album’s string arrangements, with performances by The Letter String Trio, including the title track featuring spoken word by Tim Carroll.
Three of those arrangements were later reworked for Holy Holy’s Sweet Bitter Sweet, which was nominated for the 21st Soundmerch Australian Music Prize.
Additional music and arrangements for BIG Live’s 2025 premiere ballet production, Dracula, performed at major venues across Australia and New Zealand, including the State Theatre Sydney, Hamer Hall Melbourne, the Opera House Wellington, and QPAC Brisbane. Toby’s contribution included the Act I finale, scene transitions, pre and post show music, and additional music for selected parts of the production. The broader classical repertoire for the production was selected and curated by BIG Live.
Collaborative and commissioned music work across arrangement, keyboards, composition, songwriting, additional production, organ and more, spanning artist releases, advertising, film and theatre projects over many years. Toby’s contributions have included recording sessions, live performance, co-writing, score development and production support for artists including Jordan Merrick, Jake Whittaker, Hayley Marsten, Lisa De Angelis and Fresco Kyoto.
